First in the Asian statistics you have a Census completed in 2000 for the US stating that the total Asian Americans in the US were 10, 171,820. This made the population 11,859,466. The Asian statistics regarding other ethnic groups were counting Indians as well as part of the Asian portion, as they are considered part of Asia.

Next we have already mentioned this, but again the Asian Americans are rapidly growing in the US. They moved a rate of 63.24 percent from 1990 to 2000. That is a 10 percent move in growth, more than any other ethnic group.

According to the Asian statistics, about 5 Asian groups number a million or more individuals in the US.. In other words Asian Americans such as the Chinese, Filipino, Asian Indian, Vietnamese, and Koreans have more than 1 million individuals in their groups. Further Asian statistics show that the Chinese culture is the largest Asian group in the US at the moment. They have 24 percent of the Asian Americans in their group compared to the others mentioned.

In the top six, according to the Asian statistics you have the Chinese, Filipino, Asian Indian, Vietnamese, Korean and Japanese that are at 28 percent of the groups. Asian Americans are also disproportionate with the sexes. There are more men than women in the total population for the Asian Americans.

About 68.4 percent of the Asian populations are in the 18-64 year range, with 23.9 percent of that group in the 0-18, and 7.7 percent of the group 65 or older. The Asian statistics offered have been based on polls taken and other surveys by the Census Bureau. While these numbers are from 2000 you can expect that they have risen in the last 8 years. Another fascinating Asian statistic is that the Asian population shows a 60.2 percent marriage rate leaving them one of the highest ethnic groups to be married. The national or total population statistic is 54.4 percent. By looking at the statistics one can garner that the Asian populations are growing and that they make up a variety of Asian cultures within the US.
