Asian American Justice Center and Affiliates; Promoting equality and fighting civil injustices

There are many cases every day that defy the civil rights of human beings everyday. There are associations in the United States that work to prevent these injustices to create a peaceful and civil community for everyone. The Asian American Justice Center does just that for the Asian American population by "advancing equality" and to "build and promote a fair and equitable society for all." The Asian American Justice Center is known by the highest government officials as well as the Asian American community and important people throughout. The center deals with all issues for the Asian American community from affirmative action to immigrant rights, immigration, and voting rights. The center empowers Asian Americans with critical tools that shape policies which comply with what they want in life. They work to "forge strong and safe communities" by fighting against hate crimes, while educating people of social understanding between different racial groups and ethnicities, as well as surrounding communities. It encourages the Asian American community to challenge civil injustices and educate others as well. It is important to have such an establishment to back up a community of people to ensure civil action is taken to promote and establish the rights for them.

The Asian American Justice Center is affiliated with several organizations that protect the civil rights of the Asian American population such as the Asian Pacific American Legal Center, Asian Law Caucus, and the Asian American Institute. The Asian Pacific American Legal Center is the largest legal organization for the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities. It was founded in 1983 that deals with traditional legal services along with civil rights advancement. The center advocates for civil rights and extends legal services, educational opportunities, and creates coalitions to broaden the Asian Pacific Americans ability to accomplish more without having to fight so hard for what they deserve. Having a center like this backing up the community gives them the civil freedom and rights that they were promised coming to the United States.

The Asian American Institute is a non-profit organization that grants the Asian Pacific American community through fighting for their fights through research, education, and networking. They have programs that include Voting Rights, Asian Pacific American empowerment Initiative, Asian Pacific American Resource Guide, and tackling hate crimes that are committed against the population. They receive help from members of the community that fight equally for civil rights of the Asian American population. Programs of the center include civic participation programs such as 100 stories in 100 days, community training, and the Illinois Immigration Postcard Campaign. Programs in community building include the Impact Fellows Program, and Project Fusion. For legal advocacy, there are affirmative action programs, education programs, and voting rights programs. Lastly, there are programs that promote equality and inclusion such as the Asian American Leadership Forum.

The United States allows people to enter the country to enjoy a life full of freedom and civil nature for all that enters. With civil injustices that occur everyday, these are the organizations that protect and defend their community from such discriminations against the Asian American's civil rights.
